 In astronomy, a nova is a star that suddenly becomes dramatically brighter, symbolizing transformation, rebirth, and hidden potential coming into the light.

Lumina comes from the Latin lumen, meaning "light." 

It represents wisdom, illumination, hope, and inner radiance.

Together, Miss Nova Lumina suggests:

Eligibility Criteria

1. Age:  Applicants must be 18 to 35 years of age on the date of the competition.

2. Gender Eligibility: The competition is open to biological women only.

3. Marital Status : Applicants may be:

- Single

- Married

- Divorced

- Widowed

4. Pregnancy; Contestants must not be pregnant during the competition or during their reign

5. Body Diversity

- All natural body types are welcome.

- Miss Nova Lumina celebrates diversity, including slim, athletic, curvy, plus-size, and all naturally healthy body shapes.

6. Purpose-Driven Entry

Every contestant must represent a meaningful purpose beyond the crown.

Each applicant must:

- Champion a registered charity, nonprofit organization, or meaningful social cause.

- Present a clear personal mission or project that creates a positive impact in society.

- Demonstrate a genuine commitment to service, advocacy, education, environmental protection, health, animal welfare, women's empowerment, or another humanitarian cause.

National Directors

National Directors .primary responsibility is to conduct a fair, transparent, and professional national competition while selecting a Queen who embodies beauty, purpose, intelligence, leadership, and compassion.

Responsibilities of a National Director

• Organize and manage the national competition.

• Ensure all eligibility criteria and judging standards are upheld.

• Select the contestant who best represents the Miss Nova Lumina philosophy.

• Provide guidance and logistical support throughout the national competition.

Respecting the Queen's Individuality

Once a National Queen has been selected, her individuality remains her own.

The National Director shall not dictate or control:

• Her advocacy or charitable cause.

• Her personality or personal values.

• Her styling, hair, or makeup choices.

• Her evening gown or wardrobe selections.

• Her national costume concept or creative vision.

• How she authentically represents her country and herself on the international stage.

• He will not engage in a sexual/private relationship with her and keep the relationship purely professional. 

  
  

Miss Nova Lumina celebrates authentic women, not manufactured contestants.

Transparency & Fairness

The Miss Nova Lumina Organization is committed to complete transparency.

• There shall be no hidden fees, compulsory purchases, or undisclosed contractual obligations beyond those clearly stated at the time of entry.

• Contestants will receive straightforward contracts outlining their rights, responsibilities, and competition requirements, and limited to 1 year tenure if a winner, and 6 months if competed only. 

• Returning contestants can only participate after a gap of minimum two years, and not less. 

• National Directors are expected to act with integrity, professionalism, and respect toward every contestant. & not engage in private relationships

Beyond the Reign

At the conclusion of her 12-month reign, the Queen has complete freedom to pursue her own career and future ambitions. The Miss Nova Lumina Organization places no restrictions on her professional or personal choices after her contractual obligations have been fulfilled.

Miss Nova Lumina believes that a Queen should be empowered—not controlled. Our role is to provide a platform from which she can rise, while always remaining true to herself.

The Miss Nova Lumina crown is not awarded simply to the most beautiful contestant.

It is awarded to the woman whose vision reaches beyond the stars—a woman who sees the crown as a platform to transform her own life while uplifting the lives of others.

The Organization seeks contestants who understand that this journey is about creating opportunities, building a meaningful career, championing a purpose, and inspiring future generations.

Public Support & Advocacy Award

Support a Cause, Not the Crown

At Miss Nova Lumina, the winner is never determined by public voting or financial contributions.

The crown is awarded exclusively by the official judging panel based on the competition's judging criteria.

Instead of voting for contestants, the public is invited to support the charitable causes and advocacy projects represented by each contestant.

Every donation is made directly in support of a contestant's chosen charity or social initiative—not toward influencing the competition's outcome.

This ensures that every contribution creates a meaningful impact while preserving the integrity and fairness of the pageant.

The Nova Lumina Impact Award

The contestant who inspires the greatest philanthropic impact throughout the competition will receive the prestigious Nova Lumina Impact Award.

This special title recognizes the contestant who successfully mobilizes the highest level of charitable support for her advocacy through fundraising, awareness campaigns, and community engagement.

The recipient will receive:

The official title of Miss Nova Lumina Impact.

A special trophy and recognition during the Grand Finale.

An advocacy grant to further support her charitable work.

Recognition as the competition's leading humanitarian ambassador.

Receiving the Nova Lumina Impact Award does not influence the judges' scores or determine the winner of the Miss Nova Lumina crown.

Its purpose is to celebrate compassion, leadership, and the extraordinary ability to inspire generosity and positive change.

Winner's Commitment & Reign

The winner of Miss Nova Lumina is crowned not only as a beauty queen, but as a global ambassador for purpose, leadership, and positive change.

Prize Commitment

• The winner will receive 100% of her official cash prize at the time of crowning.

• As part of her advocacy commitment, she agrees to donate 25% of her prize money to the charity, nonprofit organization, or social cause she represented throughout the competition. This donation reflects the core values of Miss Nova Lumina: compassion, service, and meaningful impact.

The Nova Lumina Reign

During her reign, the Miss Nova Lumina Organization will actively invest in the winner's personal and professional growth. Depending on official engagements and contractual agreements, she may receive:

• A monthly ambassador stipend.

Code of Conduct & Reign Agreement

As the official representative of Miss Nova Lumina, the reigning Queen is expected to uphold the values of integrity, respect, professionalism, and compassion throughout her 12-month reign.

The Organization reserves the right to review any serious breach of the Reign Agreement, including but not limited to:

• Failure to fulfil official commitments without prior approval from the Organization.

• Participation in activities that conflict with contractual obligations or official brand partnerships.

• Pregnancy during the official reign, due to the extensive travel, scheduling, and endorsement commitments associated with the title. Marriage during the reign is permitted.

• 
  

  Engagement in criminal or illegal activities.

• Public conduct that seriously damages the reputation of the Queen or the Miss Nova Lumina Organization.

• Public statements or actions that promote hatred, discrimination, violence, or unlawful conduct against any individual or community.

• Misrepresentation, fraud, or any deliberate breach of the official contractual agreement.

The Organization recognises that unforeseen personal or family circumstances may arise. 

Requests for leave, schedule changes, or temporary adjustments will always be considered with compassion and mutual understanding when communicated in advance.

Miss Nova Lumina believes that a Queen should be supported with respect and dignity.

 These standards exist not to limit her individuality, but to preserve the integrity, professionalism, and global reputation of the title she proudly represents.
